I am very pleased to share that I have recently received the wonderful news that my essay, “My Mother and Her Pain,” published in the 2022 Story Circle Network anthology, Real Women Write: Seeing Through Their Eyes, has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. I am one of six nominees from Real Women Write whose work will go on to the national contest, and winners of that contest will be included in a volume that is considered one of the most highly honored literary projects in America. The Pushcart Prize represents the best of the small presses and even a nomination is considered a true honor. I am proud to say this is my second Pushcart nomination.

I have two pieces in the current anthology. I am delighted to be included in this fine volume of prose and poetry.

I am also thrilled to have received the Pushcart nomination for this piece, one very close to my heart in its exploration of how my beloved mother coped with the pain in her life.
