Liminal Time: A Reflection

From the New Oxford American Dictionary:

liminal |ˈlimənl|

adjective technical

1 of or relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.

2 occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.

____

I feel as if I’m operating in liminal time right now

As if I’m straddling where I’ve been with where I’m going

I know where I’ve been; I’m not sure where I’m headed

I do know that wherever that is will be good

It’s as though I am right at that cusp between day and night

In the gloaming

Not straining to see what’s ahead

Walking slowly along the path with trust

Happy that I long ago lost my fear of night
