I share my writing with other writers because I need permission to express my experiences and truths about difficult things that have happened in my life. I need to hear others openly sharing about their hard experiences so I don’t feel alone, self-absorbed, or overly needy when looking deeply at my tough stuff.

I want to grow from other writers’ experiences and learn to risk more as I see them risking more. I want to consider ways to share my difficult stories in various forms, from memoir to poetry to personal essay to fiction.

I share because I want to grow with the help of my fellow writers. I hope my vulnerability will encourage their vulnerability (and vice versa), and we will all grow as we take the risk to express our truth.
