Four Words for 2024: Breakthrough, Change, Health, and Heal

Today, I came across one of those Facebook games that is a square with what looks like a couple of hundred random letters. It read, “The first four words you see will define 2024 for you.” Those words, which were not quick in coming, by the way, were breakthrough, change, health, and heal.

While I am not a believer in the validity of these particular games, I did find those words compelling. I am hopeful for a breakthrough in my writing routine this year so that I can calmly and quietly work on the two novels that are sitting currently in files on my desktop. I am open to change in my life (which is good since it comes whether I am open or not) and want to keep my focus on the positive. I also am aware that being conscientious regarding my health is very important since I will be celebrating yet another birthday this month and am slowly edging up the aging ladder. Finally, I have begun to change my thoughts related to a few deeply painful past experiences and I sense true healing in those areas. So, these words felt exactly right and I was surprised at their particular accuracy given where I am right now.

Many people believe there are no coincidences. I am not certain I’d go that far, but I like the idea of synchronicity. Today’s words certainly feel as if they fall into that category for me. I am happy to think of 2024 in terms of breakthrough, change, health, and healing. Those are positive words to me and are good reminders that life is full of possibilities. I very much like the sound of that.

Happy New Year, my friends. Here’s to possibilities for us all!
