Over this past summer, I worked with my writing student Ricardo on his essays for dental school. He was referred by his college roommate, Ryan, with whom I’d worked the previous year. With Ricardo’s strong test scores, high GPA, excellent work experience, and exceptional essays he has just let me know that he has been accepted to the following prestigious dental schools: University of California, San Francisco; University of California, Los Angeles; University of Pennsylvania; University of Michigan, University of Southern California, Western University, and Tufts. He also received scholarship offers from UCSF, UCLA, and Penn. Ricardo will be making his final choice within the next two weeks. Clearly, he has a plethora of excellent schools to pick from.

I am impressed with both Ricardo’s work ethic and attention to detail. He is a young man who has worked hard to get where he is and he will be an excellent dentist. He has the focus, tenacity, and temperament to excel at whatever he undertakes.
