Last Full Day in Ensenada

Today was our last full day in Ensenada. Tomorrow, we’ll pack up and head back to Los Angeles.

It was a chilly day, but we all enjoyed the jacuzzi. The kids were the only ones, however, who braved the unheated pool. The whole day was relaxed and low-key. No rush. I did work at least part of the time. I had essays to read and comment on, some editing to do, and a class to teach on the novel Beloved. But I managed to find plenty of time in-between to hang out with the family.

We finished our day with popcorn and the movie, “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman. It was my first time seeing this musical, but the kids have seen it so many times that they knew the words to almost every song. It was fun to hear them belt out the songs and see them jump up to dance along with the dancers on the screen. I would highly recommend The Greatest Showman for anyone who likes musicals and enjoys an inspiring story. This one is about P.T. Barnum and his rags to riches journey.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to spend some quality time with Sarah, Gregorio, and their three adorable children. We rarely have the luxury of several days together devoted primarily to just being together. It has been quite a treat.
