Today is my little brother’s birthday. He’s five years younger than me and no matter how old we get, he’ll always be “little brother” to me.

Sam is one of those people who fills a room with his smile. He is open and generous and always there if you need him. He is also an amazing musician and businessman and has built a career around music, which has inspired him ever since he received a requested snare drum for Christmas when he was just a little guy. Since that time, he’s learned to play a whole slew of instruments, but he is quite the virtuoso at the piano and guitar.

Happy birthday, dear brother. I love you so much and am very proud of you. I’m happy you are surrounded with such love in your life and count myself among those people who consider you a gift to this world. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with me during our songwriting sessions. That has been an opportunity for me to try something brand new and to get the chance to spend time with you.

Here’s to many happy years ahead. Always know that you’re safely tucked away in my heart where I will love you forever.
