Looking Up

I saw a red-tailed hawk

Soaring in the Ojai sky

And then I saw a second

Joining in

To glide together

In peaceful harmony

The red on their fanned tails

Translucent in the sun

In vivid contrast

To the azure sky

Offering a moment

Of perfect solace

On a warm summer day
