Homecoming: A Series Worth Watching

Ray and I watched the first season of the 2018 series “Homecoming” starring Julia Roberts recently. I have to say that the producers, director, writers and actors did a superlative job at least on the first season. (That’s all we’ve watched so far.) The story is compelling, the acting excellent and the topics controversial and relevant. It received a 98% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but only a 73% from the audience. I share the critics’ view on this tension-filled drama. I didn’t have a clue where we were going and I was surprised all along the way. I won’t say a word about the story premise just in case you want to watch it. I don’t want to give anything away. I will say that Julia Roberts inhabits this role and Bobby Cannavale simply couldn’t be better. Also, Shea Whigham is masterful in his portrayal of an uncelebrated “cog” in a system that hardly cares about what he does.

Here is a trailer, just in case you’re interested. You can find it on Amazon Prime.

  2. Very good. Can’t speak for more than season one right now, but it’s worth watching!
