Right now, I can look over and see a variety of items off to my right here on my writing table. I see John Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath, Pam Houston’s Waltzing the Cat, Toni Morrison’s Beloved, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. There is also a three inch thick edition of Bartlett’s Roget’s Thesaurus, the May/June edition of Writers’ Digest, a copy of Family RVing magazine (the organization we joined so we could get a discounted hotspot) and April/May edition of AARP magazine with a photo of Michael Douglas on the cover with an accompanying blurb that reads: On the Joys and Pain of Family, Creativity, Being Curious and Never Growing Up.
Apparently being curious is the new watchword. “Sparking Curiosity” is the title of that new Writers’ Digest with accompanying articles on “The Secrets of Satisfying Story Endings,” Beat Writer’s Block by Following Your Curiosity,” “Write Multi-Dimensional Character Motivation, “Chanel Cleeton on How Curiosity Fuels Her Writing.”
I am all for curiosity. In fact, I’m curious to read that magazine.
Okay, I have to finish up. It is almost ten pm and I am curious to see what television show Ray wants me to watch.
Good night all. We’ll talk again tomorrow.
Stay curious, my friends!
