Sacha is a senior at the LA County High School for the Arts. He has been my writing student for several years now and is a lovely young man. I am pleased to announce that he has been accepted at numerous colleges for next fall, including Ryerson University; Sarah Lawrence College; University of the Arts, Philadelphia; SUNY Purchase College; and University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Sacha plans to attend Ryerson University in Toronto, one of Canada’s premier schools for theater education. There, he will pursue a BFA in acting.

This year, Sacha also received a writing award in Personal Essay from the Scholastic Artists and Writers contest, the oldest and most prestigious writing contest for youth in the United States. Sacha’s essay was recognized as an award-winner for the Western region of the U.S., which is comprised of eight states.

Congratulations, Sacha. I wish you well as you head off to college. I know you’ll find great success. You bring passion, an open-heart and a welcoming smile wherever you go.
