Ray and I have driven up to Ojai to the orange grove. With temperatures dipping into the low 40s tonight, we are snug as two bugs in a rug in our Airstream. Rachael is feeling much better and looked glad to have ever-constant Mom and Dad need to make the northward trek for a quick overnight stay. We have to take care of some business up here tomorrow, which just happens to also be Ray’s birthday. The scent of oranges blossoms will be lovely to wake up to in the morning. I suppose I can also offer the birthday boy a big glass of freshly squeezed orange juice as well. Certainly a vitamin C-filled treat to keep immune systems up to snuff in this era of lurking viruses.
We will get to see Liz and Ron while we are here. Liz has already mentioned keeping a good six feet between us so they don’t give us anything. Our kids are all worried they might inadvertently pass something to us. I appreciate their concern. It is very sweet of them.
Our trip is a quick one. We are returning tomorrow afternoon to LA. We are not certain exactly when the shelter in place order might be imposed plus we have work to attend to in LA. Not to mention making sure Rachael stays on the mend.
I am happy to be here tonight. The stars are bright in the night sky and the air smells so fresh and clean. This truly is one of my favorite places in the entire world.
I hope you are having a lovely evening as well. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Take good care and I’ll write again tomorrow.

Sounds like a nice, albeit short, respite.
