We are watching HBO’s new series, Vinyl, created by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, Terence Winter and Rich Cohen. This is set in the early 1970’s and is about the music business. Bobby Cannavale is the lead as Richie Finestra and he is so far doing a fine job. Olivia Wilde plays Richie’s wife. Lots of sex, drugs, rock and roll so far along with some complicated financial and personal juggling by Richie. Throw in a murder and you have a swirl of music, action and drama. It’s too early in the viewing to decide exactly how good the series is, but so far, I’d say it has definitely caught my attention.
Below is a trailer to give you a glimpse into this world.

Wow! The energy in the trailer alone is sweeping. Wish I had HBO. š¦
Yes, lots of energy. Aided by lots of drugs.
I have also been enjoying it.
Oh good, Wendel, glad to know you are watching, too. We’ve only watched a few episodes, but it is holding my interest so far. Good insider look at that time.
