A Happy Day at the Getty

My niece, Katie Leatherwood, and her friend, John Allen, are visiting us from Texas for the next few days. They have been to Coachella to the music festival and have come to LA before heading up Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco. (One of the prettiest drives anywhere in the world!) Anyway, today we headed to the Getty Museum to look at two exhibitions: The Japan’s Modern Divide: The Photographs of Hiroshi Hamaya and Kansuke Yamamoto and Overdrive: L.A. Constructs the Future, 1940–1990. Both are very cool and I would recommend them. Very interesting!

Here are pictures of the gardens at the Getty

Lots of fun.

Lots of inspiration.

A beautiful day coupled with lovely company equals happiness.

  1. The gardens look inviting. I haven’t seen that kind of treatment for tree trunks. Must be some kind of protection as opposed to art?
