A Surprise

Last night I became a grandmother.

Tonight, all I can do is stare at my little granddaughter’s picture. This is after seeing her twice today on two separate visits to the hospital.

Tomorrow we go see her again.

I am already hopelessly in love.

I haven’t felt this feeling EVER.

Perhaps because now I know how fast children grow up, how unpredictable life can be, how singular particular moments in time are.

Yes, I am completely in love.

My goodness.

Who knew?

Oh, she is perfectly lovely, Len! I know exactly how you are feeling. I can feel the radiance of your smile all the way here in Texas! Happy Grandmothering! Congratulations to all of you.

    1. Ah, thank you, Mary Ann. Yes, I expect you can feel my smile all the way across those deserts and plains from me to you. I am so happy.

      Hugs. Len.

  3. Oh yes. I know that feeling. As in awe I was when my (one) daughter was born, I was over the moon when each of my two granddaughters were born. Now you will be more busy going to see her every chance you get. Congratulations to all! A beautiful angel, she is.

    1. Absolutely, Tess. I was with little Luna all afternoon and evening. What a treat!

hmmm, this part about “not feeling this way EVER”, and the reason struck me. Expound on this line of thought for another piece, maybe?
