“Christmas-Lite”

SAMSUNG

Here is our little Christmas tree here in CA. We are going “Christmas-Lite” this year, working to shift the focus from stress and spending to calm and sharing. We are limiting the amount of money for gifts with family and having a potluck with friends on Christmas Day. (This is after having an evening celebration a few days before when all our kids can be present.)
We will go to mass on Christmas Eve at 5 pm where I’ll serve as one of the acolytes, then come home for a low-key evening.

I would like to put the fun back into Christmas this year with less shopping and more Netflix movies and Scrabble.

It’s time to get proactive and truly enjoy the season.

This is the goal.

Great move! When will we all say “Enjoy the Season!” and let loose the stress so we CAN enjoy!

    1. Thanks for your comment. I am glad you concur!

  2. I’m with you, Len. The simpler the better for me too. It seems my whole life I had to travel and rush around every Christmas. Well, no more. Great idea!

    1. Hey Tess. I’m happy to hear you’re going for simpler, too. Time to stop the madness, eh?

Sounds wonderful! We try to keep it simple also.

    1. Yes, now I just have to figure out how to cut back on the cooking. That’s the part that I love the most, but also can make me very tired…

I didn’t know if there would be much in the way of celebration and festivities for me this year because I’m recuperating from back surgery, the second this year. As it is turning out the #2 surgery is much easier than the first and while Christmas will be simpler I find that each thing I am able to to brings a great rush of thanksgiving and appreciation of the season.
