Here is a poem I have written for my grandson Milo, since March is his birthday month.
For those of you who have written to me expressing your concern over the complications of Milo’s birth, thank you. Your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes touched my heart. I will see Rachael, Andrew, and Milo later this week and will share with them your outpouring of concern and love.
This poem is called a triolet. It has certain rules governing the rhyming scheme. I am enjoying learning about these different rhyming schemes. It’s good way to keep the brain exercised!
Newborn Milo
Milo is now almost two weeks of age
He’s got his daddy’s face with his mama’s nose
Though he has a loud cry, he’s usually calm as a sage
Milo is now almost two weeks of age
He’s already an inch longer and in a growth stage
Soon he won’t fit into his 1 to 3-month clothes
Milo is now almost two weeks old
He’s got his daddy’s face with his mama’s nose
