Today, I learned that my writing student, Nadia, whom I helped with her medical school personal statement and supplements, has been accepted into the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Congratulations, Nadia! You have worked hard to earn that coveted slot there, and I am fully confident that you will not only do well in your studies but also become a kind, empathetic physician. I am so pleased for you and wish you the very best as you move forward toward your dream of becoming a doctor.
Nadia was referred to me by Dr. Avni Agrawal, the fiancée of my very first medical school applicant, Fong Nham. Fong and Avni met while in medical school in Florida, and since then, I have worked with both of them on their residency and post-residency fellowship applications. Avni has also referred several of her medical school friends to me as they applied for their residencies. One big happy family!
Nadia, congratulations again. I know you are both excited and relieved. Getting that coveted acceptance letter is a life-changing experience. I am truly delighted for you.
Be sure to give your mom a big hug from me. She has been your biggest supporter all along!
My very best to you, my dear. Hooray!
