Nico’s surgery was a total success. No scar tissue and all obstructions were clear. He now is the proud owner of two titanium hearing bones, and he is reporting he can hear the gauze moving in his ear. Wow. His surgeon says it will take a a little time for his brain to register that he can now hear on that one side, but it shouldn’t take long.

Nico’s very tired from the general anesthetic and the stitches will have to heal where they opened his ear along the back seam and folded it back to gain access. But besides that, he is doing great. He has had a big bowl of Grandma’s oatmeal, a bowl of spaghetti and three bowls of Grandma’s honey-sweetened banana pudding.
