After breakfast today at the hotel, our group took a guided bus tour around Madrid, then visited the Royal Place. Don’t worry, we didn’t see all of the 3,000-plus rooms, but rather only 26. Afterwards, about half of us walked back to our hotel (the others took the bus).
After a two hour nap on my part, our writing group convened. We have about twelve of our group who are participating, which makes for a lively bunch. First, we wrote for fifteen minutes on one of two prompts (or one of our own choosing), then we shared. I was struck with just how much can be written in such a short time and also how deeply felt a short piece can be. This promises to be a close-knit group before we part.
Immediately following the writing group, we went on a tapas tour, where we split into two groups and visited two different restaurants each for these delectable treats. I don’t think I was the only one who returned from this event wishing I had eaten just a little bit less. However, we are in Spain, yes?
Today was full of very different activities and each was quite satisfying. I look forward to more adventures tomorrow.
