Tomorrow, I am doing a book signing and reading at Book Soup in West Hollywood. I have looked over my book but haven’t yet made a decision which passages I will read. My son-in-law Ron’s mom, Cindy, is making cookies for the event. Liz, Ron, and Ethan are driving into LA from Ojai. Rachael and Andrew will come from Covina if they feel better after having Covid. Sarah will come from South Pasadena if her family isn’t sick. Friends from St. Thomas are coming along with a few friends and former students of mine in Beverly Hills. I presume I’ll gain clarity between now and tomorrow night on those passages to read. I have two goals: 1) to read engaging parts of my book that don’t put people to sleep, and 2) not to cry. Wish me luck on both of those.

As a writing friend of mine said to me today, “Just enjoy this!” That is my plan.

What an adventure. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to have a book signing event at the iconic Book Soup. Just goes to show dreams can come true.
