Today, we had an art morning here at the orange grove. Our friend Sonny, who is visiting from Massachusetts, brought his art supplies and started drawing at the kitchen table this morning. Soon, Nico joined him, then Gregorio, Lyla, and Luna. They sat for a long while, working on the pictures they were drawing. Occasionally, Sonny would toss out a bit of instructional information to Nico about the different pencils he was using, but, for the most part, each person was absorbed in his/her art project. This was a lovely sight since it was a perfect weather day in Ojai, with blue skies and temperatures in the 70s. Here is a photo:

Later, we hiked to the Nature Conservancy’s water hole. The conservancy is within walking distance of our land, so making that trek is quite easy. This is a popular destination in Ojai, particularly on weekends, so we shared the spot with a few other families. It was a relaxing afternoon followed by soccer fun at the park with the Pacheco-Beaty family, a pizza dinner, and a return trip to Ojai Ice Cream. It was quite a lovely day.
