I wrote the post below in 2015 to celebrate my niece, Leslie Leatherwood’s marriage to Haley Broussard. Leslie is the daughter of my late brother and sister-in-law, Sandra Adams Leatherwood. Since their wedding day, Leslie and Haley have had twin daughters, Sierra and Marina, who are now 4 years old. I just want to reach out to these two lovely women and let them know their Aunt Len loves them and is so proud of the life they have created together. I am also so happy they have these two little girls in their lives, who are so fortunate to have not one but two loving mamas. Big hugs to all!

Today, my beloved niece, Leslie Leatherwood, married the love of her life, Haley Broussard, in Hawaii. These two young women are loving, kind, beautiful, and decent. I can not express my joy that they have found each other and have the opportunity to declare their love and commitment in an official wedding ceremony. Hallelujah.

I didn’t go to Hawaii for the festivities because of my daughter Sarah’s near-term condition. As one of Sarah’s support people, I was needed here just in case baby Nico makes an early appearance.

Still, I am so sorry to miss those wedding vows. Sometimes, when people get married, you just know this is the best match possible. That is the case with Leslie and Hayley.

My love to all my family who were able to make the ceremony. I—and the whole CA family—are there in spirit.
