A Sleepy Day after Covid Booster

Ray and I planned a rest day today since we had our COVID-19 boosters yesterday and flu vaccines. Though neither of us had the strong reactions we’ve had in the past (fever, chills, and extreme body aches), we both had body aches and were very tired and groggy today. I took three two-hour naps, and Ray dozed on and off. Even with that much sleep, problem-solving seemed next to impossible. I had two or three minor tasks to complete, and my only thought was, “I just can’t do it,” accompanied by a pathetic face as I looked at Ray. This is what I remember about COVID the one time I had it—attacking a small task that required detailed thinking seemed insurmountable. Interestingly enough, by early evening, after that final nap, I got up, took care of everything I needed to do quickly, and completed a few tasks that could have waited until tomorrow. I couldn’t believe what a difference just a few hours made.

On that note, I’ll say goodnight. I may have had 6 hours of sleep today, but I’m looking forward to more tonight.

Until tomorrow.
