Successful Ojai Nature Writing and Crafting Workshop!

Today, I held a nature writing workshop in Ojai in collaboration with Footprints in the Soil (FITS), an environmental nonprofit. My daughter Rachael led a crafting workshop on the back patio of Move Sanctuary, where the event was held. My other daughter, Liz, helped with the event’s planning, participated in the writing workshop, and snapped photos.

I was very grateful that the participants were willing to drive all the way from Los Angeles County to take part in the writing workshop. They came from Covina, San Dimas, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Thank you! You were a small but mighty group, and I appreciated your openness to learning about nature writing and your willingness to share your writing with the group. What a lovely afternoon together!

Here are a few photos of the event. We will be working with FITS to put on more of these events in Ojai in the future.

This lovely space was perfect for the workshop. It was relaxed and cozy. (Those are Liz’s toes.)
