Poem: Enveloped in Green

As I wander through the grove
Green leaves shine on every tree
Hobbit, Gollum, and Skinny Fingers jade stand tall
Montrose and Prickly Pear cacti stretch their arms wide
Up hops a grasshopper
Two or three lizards lounge nearby

I half-expect to see
a leprechaun pop up with a shamrock in hand
Peter Pan fly by in his green garb and hat
Puff, the Magic Dragon, frolick in the mist
Hear strains of Greensleeves
Smell the spicy scent of rosemary

Green, the great symbol of life
cradles my forever-child spirit
wraps me in tranquility
Then releases me
renewed
in harmony
happy

  2. Len,   Fun take on the prompt. I love how you brought some mythical characters into your garden of green.

  3. Thanks, Betty. Yes, I was thinking of green mythical figures and those three came to mind!
