Day 2 Poem: Little Brother

Little Brother

You, as a little boy, ran around in your underwear

A towel safety-pinned to the back of your tee shirt

Superman with his cape

Ready to fly off and right the wrongs of the world

You, as a young man, curled up in bed

Snuggled with our older brother dying of AIDS

Watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air together

Doing what you could to make life not so sad

You now hosting a fundraiser

For your friend diagnosed with glioblastoma

Singing with your fellow musicians

Helping your friend with his medical bills

You, little Superman, have thrived

Flying to where you are called

Opening your arms to those in need

Sharing love straight from your heart

Well done, little brother.
