Today, we headed to Carpinteria, a little beach town just north of Ventura. Our old friend Sonny Crawford and his son Sovahn are visiting from Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts and we figured they’d enjoy a nice sunny day right on the edge of the Pacific. Liz, Ron, and Ethan joined us as well and we spent several hours luxuriating at the beach listening to the rhythmic sound of the waves and watching others beach goers playing in the water. An absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon.
Here are a few photos of our adventure:

Ah Len, This beautiful beach is what I miss most about leaving California. My husband and I would head to Carpinteria a lot. Even in the winter. When my daughter knew we definitely decided to move to Austin she actually told me she was worried that we would miss Carp. She was right.
But your blog reminds me of what I love most. My life with my family.
These pictures of this beautiful beach warmed my heart today.
I get so much out of your daily blog. It’s almost like having you part of our accountability group.
