Day Two: Post-Cataract Surgery

I had an 8 am appointment today with my eye surgeon and she said that all looked exactly as it should. So far, so good! Also, my new lens in my left eye aids my close-up vision so with my glasses off, I was able to read the smallest print on the paper the nurse gave me to check my eyesight. She said that my left eye in close range is 20/20. So, that’s hard to beat. I will return in a week for a more extensive check-up and will continue to wear my little plastic cover on my eye at night for 6 more nights. I drove this evening and didn’t have the halo effect I’ve grown used to seeing with oncoming car headlights. That absence was also quite a treat. And, of course, I am enjoying the vividness of color that I clearly lost as my cataract grew.

I am headed to bed now after a long day.

I’ll write again tomorrow.

Good night to you.

No more of this with my new lens. Hooray!
