Thanks to all of you who wrote me privately or reached out via Facebook to ask how our family is weathering the current “atmospheric river” that has borne down on Southern California. As it turns out, Ray and I are still in Texas due to the inclement weather in California but will be leaving soon. Our children and their families, however, are very much in the storm zone and report that it’s been excessively rainy but they personally have not experienced any weather-related problems. The roads have been wet and dangerous because California drivers aren’t all that used to rain, but no mudslides or out-of-control flooding in their neighborhoods.
For Ray and me, weather conditions are changing our return route from Interstate 40 to Interstate 10 because the Flagstaff area will be hit by a major snowstorm. We will definitely be watching the weather channel very closely so we don’t find ourselves in the middle of something dangerous.
Thank you again for reaching out to check on our family. That is very sweet and I appreciate you thinking of us!
Here’s the forecast for the next 7 days.

Dear Len, I am grateful you are safe. You have many people traveling with you in spirit. xo Carolyn
