Will Our Family Finally Get to Celebrate Christmas Soon?

Covid has been a real pain for our family over the past month. Sarah’s family went down just before Christmas so we postponed our holiday together until January. In the meantime, Rachael and Andrew came down with it as well. Then on Monday, we were due to celebrate Christmas and our January birthday folks, but Liz’s family had Covid. We canceled again but had a nice outdoor visit, with masks on for Ray and me, for a few but not all of the family. So, now we are scheduled to meet for Christmas and also celebrate Nico, Liz, and my birthdays on Sunday, January 21, which is my official birthday. We will see if this actually comes to pass. Ray and I are the only people in the family who haven’t had Covid recently so it’ll have to be us who puts the kibosh on the event if a kibosh is to happen. (Assuming, of course, that someone doesn’t come down with an alternative illness like the flu or a bad cold.) So, fingers are crossed.

I have made and frozen the stuffed shells I prepared for Monday. I have since been informed by Nico that my turkey meatloaf is now his favorite food, and would I please make a big one for our official Christmas? The answer is yes, of course. Stuffed shells and meatloaf are a good combination. I guess I will finally dig out all those gifts I bought and start wrapping them. Who knows what I’ll find? It’s been a while since I bought everything.

On the bright side, time not being together makes the anticipation of time together even better. And, everybody’s Covid was pretty mild, which is very good.

However, we are still waiting for a negative Covid test for Ron and Ethan.

My goodness. This goes on and on.

Wish us luck.
