Today, Ethan Arthur Betty turns eleven months old, one month away from his first birthday. It’s hard to imagine the world without this little blue-eyed bundle of constant movement and spontaneous smiles. Was it just eleven months ago that he was born? How is that possible? It is as though he has been here forever already. As the youngest of my four beautiful, smart, sweet, and darling grandchildren, Ethan has added his adorable personality to the mix. He is already totally in love with his older boy cousin Nico, lets Luna haul him around on her hip, and allows Lyla to poke his chubby cheeks and hug him tight.
Ethan is wiggling, crawling, and scaling anything that he can climb. He chats incessantly in baby talk and can gurgle and coo with the best of them. He also eats pretty much anything put in front of him, drinks lots of water and Mommy’s milk, and can let anybody around him know in no uncertain terms what he likes and DOES NOT like. He also has figured out that all he has to do is look at me with a slightly pathetic expression and I’ll pick him up without a thought, which causes him to smile, of course. I’ve noted that he does the same thing with his Grandma Cindy and she does exactly what I do. In other words, he is getting his two Grandmas properly trained and we’re happy to comply.
I have included a few recent photos below of the little character. I’ll go easy since we all know that on his first birthday, I’ll be displaying even more.
Happy 11-month-old birthday, little Ethan. You are definitely someone who makes me happy. I can only thank heaven above for this adorable gift of pure sweetness, and, of course, Liz and Ron, his very loving parents.
