A Refreshing Summer Treat: Homemade Peach Frozen Yogurt

I plan to make this recipe soon. I’ve had it before and can highly recommend it. I have an electric ice cream and frozen yogurt maker that is easy as pie. Just put these ingredients together, pop them in the frozen bowl, and in 20 minutes you have delectable frozen yogurt, honey-sweetened if you like, or sugar if that’s more to your taste.

Enjoy!

Fresh Peach Frozen Yogurt

Makes about a quart
3 large, ripe peaches, peeled and cut into chunks (You can use any frozen fruit instead if you prefer. Probably about 2 cups)
1/2 cup sugar (or honey)
juice of 1/2 lemon 1 cup cream 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt

Put the peaches, sugar (or honey), and lemon juice in a food processor or blender and purée.

Transfer the peach mixture to a large bowl and stir in the yogurt. If you have time, chill the base in the refrigerator for an hour or so (not completely necessary, but an extra safeguard if your ice cream maker isn’t very powerful).

Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the directions. Serve immediately or transfer to a container and allow to firm up for an hour or two in the freezer.
