I hear a train whistle in the distance and the hum of the space heater in the front room. Besides that, it is quiet here. I am back in Texas for only 3 days, a whirlwind trip to keep my drawl strong and my heart in the right place.
We arrived yesterday evening and I head back early Thursday morning. Today, we went to an estate sale, then spent the rest of the day organizing work projects. Tomorrow, we’ll keep organizing, run a dozen errands, and spend time with friends. Early Thursday morning, I’ll hop in the rent car and head to the airport.
I wish I could stay longer, but work beckons back in CA. Still, I am enjoying beautiful weather and the joy of being in our home here. I never get tired of this beautiful Victorian.
Here is the room where I’m sitting:
And here is the diningroom, which is right next to the room where I’m sitting.
You can see why I might like being here…
So, a little respite from much intense computer-time over the past weeks. My internet class that I teach on essay writing ended yesterday and I have no students in CA until Thursday afternoon. Yippee!
Ray just walked through the room, humming. Yes, he is happy here, too.
I have nothing else to report. Weather is spring-like, friends are full of smiles. Life is good.
See you tomorrow.

A change is as good as a rest but it certainly sounds like you’re on a whirl wind visit.
It is a bit of a whirlwind, but it’s interesting, being here is so different, I always rejuvenated.
I’ve always thought Sherman is a nice town. Not too big; not too small. But for sheer peace and quiet nothing beats the countryside. (Well, the coyotes to disturb the peace from time to time.) Plus, when the moon isn’t too bright, the stars place the wonder of the universe right before your eyes. I’d love to have you and your husband out for dinner one night in the spring when the flowers are blooming and the weather is at its best.
Gary, we’d love to experience the quiet of the country. When we’re here for a decent amount of time, you can come here and we can come there. We’ll be in Sherman this summer for several weeks. Hopefully, we could rendezvous then.
Welcome back to Texas, even if it is a short visit!
Thanks, Pat!
Oh, & I do see why you like being there!
Yes, we love this house. Such a treat to be here. Thanks for your comment.
Sorry I missed y’all! I’m working in Dallas for a few weeks then back to normal. Enjoy yourselves before little Luna comes. After she arrives, you will be busier than ever! Hugs!
Sorry to miss you, too, neighbor! We will see you post-baby with lots of news and pictures.
