Prompt: My Annual “Writing Celebration”

Saturday is big
My students will read their work
While parents listen

We are all scrambling
To get all stories complete
And finish essays

It is nine-thirty
I have been working all day
In preparation

This event is fun
The kids get to show off work
And we all eat well

The stories are good
The essays and poems are, too
If we get finished

I know that we will
It’s just tough these last few days
Getting it all done

So, off to bed now
First student at 10 a.m.
Last at 8:30

This hard work pays off
Everyone will be impressed
And I will be proud
